Here are the facts: Albuquerque is at 5000 feet above sea level. The mountain to our east, part of the Rocky Mountain chain, reaches 10,378 feet above sea level. The fastest way to get to the top is by an aerial tram…the longest one in the U.S., and third longest in the World – the Sandia Peak Aerial Tram…right in our backyard. The Sandia Peak Aerial Tram is a “double reversible jigback aerial”…I’m not sure exactly what that means…but it is fun to say. Weather was clear and cool, jacket weather…finally. Perfect for a quick trip and a bit of lunch at the top of the Crest…a staycation adventure.
