How do you handle daycare for your children?
I’m not a Stay-At-Home Mom. We don’t have a Stay-At-Home Dad.
We have daycare covered during the school year with school lessons and after school activities.
I was speaking to my best friend about this a few days ago. She lives in Alberta in Canada and she has just sent her little one to Sherwood Park daycare for his first day!
Apparently, her son had so much fun playing with all the toys and making new friends.
Daycare is such a fantastic opportunity for children to mix with their own age group. Plus, it gives us parents some time to catch up with our chores or go to work!
That being said, as much as I love sending the children to daycare, what can we do in the summer when our daycare center is closed?
And what to do with Kids when they’re Too Old for Daycare and Staying Home Alone is Not an Option?
A Babysitter? Nanny? Neighbor? Grandparent? Flexible Work Schedule?
All excellent ideas…but not available to us.
Then I came up with an IDEA….it sounded CRAZY, even to Me…
What if I rented a small Office down the Hall from my Full-Time Work Office?
For Daycare and the Doodle T Princess Shoppe.
Crazy? Maybe.
BUT IT’S WORKING!!!
A special safe place for Crafts, Reading, Quiet Play, Movies. Naps.
Yes…Naps.
A Monitor and a Phone connect us All.
20 steps and I’m there.
We have Lunch together. Sometimes In. Sometimes Out.
We take Walks.
We explore Downtown.
We talk and spend time together.
Afternoons are for Naps. Oh…I already mentioned that (smile).
They are never alone. I am always close by. Monitor Always On.
And I am able to Work knowing my Girls are Safe and Having Fun.
Thank You Doodle T.
My kind of MAGIC.
