The One Room Challenge – Guest Participant.
Thank you Linda of Calling it Home for the One Room Challenge!
My Challenge…Our “new” Bathroom. 14 Years Old “new”.
With the cheeky Mermaid and Sea Creatures Decor.
Small in Stature. But Large in Use.
All Showers Happen Here for a Family of 4.
A True Workhorse.
Red Oak Floors. Yes, Difficult to Maintain with All the Water.
White Tile Walk-In Shower Enclosure. Glass Tile Accents. No Curtain or Door Needed.
A 1940 Salvage Commercial White Porcelain Sink and standard Toilet complete the suite.
Dimensions under the Sink…12″ Deep…20″ Wide…28″ High.
Problem 1. No Storage.
Problem 2. No Space for Storage.
Problem 3. Tiny Budget.
Problem 4. Drab. Ho-Hum.
(Notice the bathroom storage cabinet in the hall. It will be the first to go.)
Create a Coastal Theme Bathroom without Froufrou Beachy Stuff. No more hanging Mermaids.
Clean Lines and Surfaces. Easy to Clean is Key.
Natural. Barefoot. Watery.
Colors?? Gray and White is my first thought. But I’m not sure.
Stripes? Might be too busy.
A Dark/Light Contrast to All the White? Yes.
Original Artwork? Love it. But the 6-Week Schedule is the Barrier.
Price. Budget of $150.
No demolition. No construction. Tile and Fixtures must Stay.
Paint is King.
The Shell Mirror is my Color Inspiration. Love all the shell grays.
Check out the Plumbing Fixtures for towel hooks. Silly. But they Work. Keepers.
The door needs refinishing. Old. Solid Wood. Brass Knob. The original finish was destroyed when we had a major plumbing disaster – water spewing everywhere. Check out that nightmare here.
This really is a Challenge.
Hopefully One with a Magical Outcome.
