A Traveling Fox Saga

SAM_9126

Hi!  RF Cardigan Here.

Always Ready for a Travel Adventure Tale.

My Trip to New York City was, Uh…Interesting.

SAM_9055

Did You Know there are Lots of Rats in NYC?

They hide in the Subway Tunnels.

You have to watch closely to See the Rats.

But Trust Me…the Rats are There.

The Rats are Bigger than Me.

I only felt comfortable traveling by Backpack.

SAM_9045

On this Trip, I Learned Lots about NYC.

1890 Brownstones Smell Old and the Stairs Creak.

But They are Steeped in History and Carved Mahogany.

SAM_9051

Brooklyn Gardens Smell Delicious.

SAM_9058

Brooklyn Residents are Very Serious about their Gardens.

SAM_9057

I Was Surprised to Discovery that NYC has Animals Everywhere.

The Above-Mentioned Dogs, of Course.

But also Squirrels on Stoops.

SAM_9105

Cats Stuck in Windows.

IMG_0164

Cats in Chinese Restaurants too.  Hmmm.

SAM_9153

And on the Subject of Food…There is always a Place to Eat Here.

Everyone Knows That.

But Did You Know…

Brooklyn has Fox-Sized Cupcakes.

And Spicy BBQ to Set Your Tail on Fire.

Travel Here is Interesting and Varied.

I Was Glad to Have My Cardigan and Scarf for the Ferry Ride to Chinatown.

The Cityscapes are Windblown and Sprinkled with Sea Salt.

Hold Me Tight.  I’m Not Going in that Murky Water.

SAM_9167

But Back to those Subways.

SAM_9060

Dogs in the Cars?!

 SAM_9175

And Rats in the Tunnels?!

I’m From Out West.

Not Many Rats Here.

Coyotes?  Sure.

And Bears.

But No Rats.

For a Fox, New York City is an Interesting Place to Visit.

But I’m Glad to Be Home.

Home in My Neck of the Woods.

Magic.

  1. I love this post! As far as the rats are concerned. My “train” of thought has always been “as long as they stay in the subway and don’t come to visit my apartment”. I had enough with trying to name every single one of the roaches who visited when the lights were turned off!

And when did the Christmas shop open in NYC? I swear in all the years I’ve lived there–growing up and as an adult, I’ve NEVER seen that store! And I spent quite a bit of time in Little Italy!!

Loving the little fox too! Thank you for making me happy!!!

  2. Catherine – So glad you enjoyed the Saga. RF began life as a Christmas Ornament. She was barely hanging off a tree at the 70% Off End of Christmas Sale at Cracker Barrel. I rescued her and then I couldn’t bear to store her away for a whole year. So she travels. Her travels have been by car and air from Rhode Island to Florida, with stops in NYC and also to Turks & Caicos. If you’re game, she’s ready for an adventure with you at either work or play…a simple email and she’s on her way. Oh and the Christmas Shop in Little Italy?…new for me too. Bet it’s crazy during the holidays…in July, ah, not so much. 🙂
