I am a Mermaid Mom…

To Lovely Teenage Mermaids.

Both In and Out of the Water.

Mr. Doodle is the Merman.

He was Born and Raised Far from the Sea, but Happily Goes Along with the Crazy, Fishy Antics of His Mermaid Family.

So when there was an opportunity to Be Part of a Mermaid Photo Shoot…the Girls Leaped at the Chance.

An Underwater Photographer Extraordinaire, Eric the Mertailor, conducted the Shoot. His 9 feet deep, all black infinity edge pool enclosed by luscious tropical plants, a Koi pond, and tantalizing parrots is the setting. Wow.

Eric had a professional model/mermaid to help with the shoot. The experience was Fabulous. Hopefully a Senior Yearbook Picture Will be the Prize…

What We didn’t Know is there are lots of moving parts to a Proper Mermaid Shoot…For a Bit of Magic…Here’s a Little Mermaid Education for You.

Everything You Never Knew You Needed to Know About Mermaids and Underwater Photography…
First Thing to Remember. A Silicone Mermaid Tail is Very Heavy on Land (25 lbs) but Becomes Feather Weight in the Water.

Wiggling into the Tail is a Process.

You Must Go Slow. Take Your Time.

Movements Under Water should be Slow and Graceful. Mermaids are the Ballerinas of the Sea World. Mermaids Dance in Water and in Slow Motion.

Once You’re in the Tail, Move your Feet in a fluid Up and Down Motion. Don’t Bend Your Knees. Remember…Mermaids don’t have Knees.

When You Submerge into the Water, Breath Out All Your Air. This Will Keep You Down Deep below the Surface. Surrounded by Water Makes the Best Mermaid Photos.

Underwater Photo Sessions are Quick. Blow Out the Air. Submerge. Do a Few Poses. Then Up for Air. There are Lots of Up and Down for Air. Remember, No Air Keeps You Under. Holding Your Breath Keeps You Buoyant and On the Surface.

A Breath-Holding Contest is Not part of a Mermaid Modeling Shoot. There is No Prize for Who Can Hold Their Breath Longest. However, this was a Lesson that We Didn’t Totally Get. ๐

Mertailor designs and crafts all his Tails. The tail movements with fluttering fins and flukes cutting through the Water are so realistic. Yes, I believe there really are Mermaids.

Mertailor Tails are Perfection.

Thank you Mertailor. Thanks for the Magic!
Are You Ready for a Tail? Oh Good. Me Too!
