It began as a tiny leak. A little drip. A little drop. A little drab.
And no one knew a thing.
The drip, drop, drab continued. Evidently Over Months.
Until a plumber stopped by and found the leak. And now we have this…

An open, massive, soggy, moldy cavity in the shower wall…
Paired with Hardwood Floors that Undulate and Roll like the Ocean.
Not a Good Look.

Holiday Decorating screeches to a halt. We are quickly bumping up to Thanksgiving with Christmas a snowball’s throw away. But clean up comes first, so we prep the house for the mold removal.
We must Clear and Juggle around the rooms closest to the bathroom.

We now have a Teen Bedroom in Front of the Fireplace. I’m told it’s perfect for spying because you know she stays up very late and is on the computer and she eats in bed and blah, blah, blah…

Big sigh.

We’ll make this work for a hot minute. I hope.
Now to Remove the Mold…Nasty Black Mold. Then ripping up wood floors, taking out drywall, pulling up tile and removing all the bathroom fixtures.

After this, the design, decorating and remodeling can begin…The Fun stuff!
But When???
Sorry…can’t do anything Thanksgiving Week. We’ll begin work in December, said the environmental clean up guy.
So the question arises…Should we cook a fun holiday meal in this disaster?

Uh, Maybe not. But we’ll be missing my infamous Thanksgiving turkey?

No worries. Mom comes up with a Could-Be-Fabulous Plan B. Can we take a super-sonic fast family spin (in 3 days including travel) to a foreign country that doesn’t take forever to get to, is not crazy expensive and has a Christmas Market just like in Europe?
Hello Toronto, Canada!

Together. Making Family Holiday Memories.

True, we’ll be traveling with all of you during the busiest travel days of the year….but we’ll be together. Which is what the Holidays are all about.
Wishing you a Wonderful Magical Thanksgiving…Here, There and Everywhere.

Hey, I just had a thought…Thanksgiving is my most favorite holiday and we’ll be spending it in a place that doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving….hmm.
That’s why we can call this an Adventure!
See you on the Flip Side. 🙂
Love the post! Love the socks on the bed legs. Love that you are visiting Toronto. My daughter is engaged to a man in Brampton (a suburb) and will be there too. Happy Thanksgiving!
Can’t wait to see the new bathroom!
