Ahh, to wake up to the smell of warm cinnamon rolls baking in the oven. The kitchen fills with the soft pink light of early morning. Outside it’s frigid. There’s even a dusting of snow. Inside the windows glisten with fog. The house is still quiet. The smells are intoxicating. Someone, somewhere is baking. All is surely right with the World.
A pot of coffee. Hot. For the Baker.

I am no great baker. Just ask my Sister. Hi Holly, oh and Happy Birthday! 🙂 But Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls make me look like a British Baking Star. Pillsbury gives you an easy way to create a special surprise to wake up the house….warm sugary cinnamon rolls. But there is one little glitch…the Cinnamon Grands puff up and are HUGE…almost as big as your head. I’ve always thought they are a bit too much sugary goodness for the morning.
But it looks like Pillsbury has figured this out and come up with an ingenious, super fast and almost too easy recipe to downsize the rolls and actually create a few more…Introducing Pillsbury Monkey Bread!
The recipe is right on the side of the box – Let’s try it.
To begin, instead of placing the rolls flat on a cookie sheet, the dough will pop into a greased cupcake tin.

Before popping, Separate the rolls and slice each one into 8 pieces.

This is where it gets interesting. Fill each cupcake holder with 5 pieces.

Now bake at 350 degrees for 16 minutes until golden brown.

While the rolls are still warm, dollop with white icing for a glistening touch.

Fun, right? And it does the trick…I hear giggles approaching kitchen.
Whoops…a bit heavy handed with the coffee. But not Heavy Handed with the Minis…they are a Perfect Petite Size for the Morning.

Morning Minis always make Magic. Thanks Pillsbury! Is it Christmas yet?
I can smell them from here! Be careful the smell doesn’t reach the fire station … Those guys might come over for breakfast!
