If you need to get up to speed…Here’s Phase 1 and Phase 2. 🙂

We finally get to see a Sherwin Williams HGTV 2020 Dream Home Color.
Hello – Sherwin Williams HGTV Dream Home Mint-To-Be!

I like it. Very Florida. Time to Move Missy Back In.

Now Unzip the Curtain. Tile Team is Waiting.

What are Your Tile Choices??? You Need Floor, Walls and Shower Pan.
Do You Have a Theme? Favorite Colors? Tile Options are Endless.
Let’s Try Some Out. But Choose Wisely. We Can’t Afford Change Orders.
Rustic Farmhouse?
1920s?
Mid-Century Modern?
Southwest Santa Fe Style?
Steam Punk?
California Contemporary?

Traditional?
Yikes! My Head is Spinning.
Factor In…Cost of the Materials? Availability? Re-Sale Value? Durability?
As I reviewed all the fabulous options, I began to see a tiny thread of a theme. Contrasts of Dark and Light. Clean Lines. Simple Layout.
For Me…It’s the Sea. Mixed with Clean Lines. Stark Contrasts. No Fuss. Uncluttered. A Space Where You Can Breathe.
A Not-Overly Fussy, Modern, Un-Disney-Like Mermaid Theme.
I’m Not Sure It’s a Thing. But it is Now.
But here’s the Million Dollar Question…
Which Way Should the Fish Scales Be Set…Points Up? Or Points Down?

Most Pinterest Photos show Points Down (in the shape of a Fan)…
Guess We’re Going Points Up (Mermaid-style). 🙂
We Begin with Charcoal Natural Stone-Look Tile for the Floor.

Gloss White Fish Scale Ceramic for the Shower Enclosure and Wall. Festival.

Points Up? I’m still wavering, but No Change Orders Allowed.

Points Up look like Water Droplets…or a Mermaid Tail.

Feature Wall of Charcoal Large Fish Scale Ceramic Tile. Villa.

Penny Tile Ceramic Tile for Shower Floor and Shower Step. Festival.

Penny Tiles will Also Wrap the Step and be inset into the Shower Niches.

No Change Orders. Pick a Theme and Stay Committed.

These Tiles with their Fancy Curves are Beautiful, but Tricky to Set.

Steady. Sure. Making Progress.

Can’t Wait for the Reveal and a Fabulous Before and After!
So far …. wonderful! I know whatever you pick will be the right choice! My daughter in San Diego recently went through a bathroom remodel and what a difference from 1950s original with the mold, etc., to lovely almost-California Contemporary. The mint color is lovely. Can’t wait to see it done! Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
Hi Suzee – Thanks! What I didn’t factor in was the difficulty for setting the mermaid tiles…lots of curves and points that can break off…whoops! It’s slow going but looking good. 🙂
It’s even more complete today – you’re gonna love it, buddy
This bathroom is going to be so fabulous! I LOVE the tile you chose and I can’t wait to see how it all comes together. I’m so excited for you. Hugs, CoCo
Hi CoCo – thanks for your kind words…home stretch now…hope it’s a win!
