A bit of fun in all the Craziness. Staying Home. Working from Home. School from Home. Home. Home. Home. I needed a tiny Break.
I found a quiet spot and tried to write.

Here is the Inspiration Photo, Again. Below is My Story.

“Now Only Silence“
Labored rattles forced warm puffs from her lips.
Inside the zipped down, her skin was burning.
Almost dark. Steady. Cough. Keep moving.
Is that a light? She squinted to focus.
Yes. Le Troquet Bistro. She smiled.
Crusty bread and real butter. A fun anniversary dinner. Barely three weeks ago. Can’t think about that now. Climb the steps.
Surely Jean-Pierre will be in the kitchen.
White linen tables sparkle in the dim emergency light.
Water glasses, left unfilled.
A hastily penned sign taped to the door.
COVID-19. STAY HOME. PLEASE.
Brushing off snow, she sat on the steps to think.

Welcome to Friday Fictioneers. These days our minds are full of those thoughts, aren’t they?
Shalom,
Rochelle
hey Jeanne…i submitted a story…did you receive it?
What a sad state of affairs. I hope she finds some shelter soon.
What a thought-provoking piece, indeed. Lovely writing. And I was distracted by the picture of Queen Elizabeth, and popped over to read her comments on COVID-19. What a truly remarkable woman, always calm, always appropriate.
Oh! I could feel the hope leaking out of her with every labored step. Good job!
