The Friday Challenge. A Story written in 100 Words.
Beginning. Middle. End.
The Inspiration Photo of the Week…
Mom and Me and Paradise
The Beach is quiet now.
Party Boats docked. Leggy Girls with Beer-Gut Boys trail off to the bars.
It is only Mom and Me.
Waiting for Seagulls to Swarm and Dolphins to Feed.
Light Breezes Skim the Waves and Shiver Sunburned Skin.
I’m Hungry. She Nods with a crooked smile.
I know, Mom. The Hat. But I really wanted the ALOHA Hat.
The wide brim kept the Sun Off My Head All Day.
She Tosses the Line out to Sea. Hopes Run High.
The Line Pulls Taut.
Flames ignite the Driftwood. Yes. We’re having Fish Tonight!

Is Your Neck of the World Slowly Opening?
Saturday is the Day for New Mexico, USA. Shops and Churches Will Open.
But Hair Salons are Still Shuttered Tight. 8 Weeks.
Oh My, My Hair! And I have My First ZOOM Mediation on Monday. Yikes!
But We’re All Staying Safe. Staying Home. Staying Well.
Hope You are Too.
It’s Nice to Know We are All in this Craziness Together.
Welcome to Friday Fictioneers. I felt the ocean breeze in my hair and the sand between my toes with this one. Nicely done.
Hi Rochelle – I am really enjoying this break from the craziness to let my mind flow…thanks!
I liked “Leggy Girls with Beer-Gut Boys”. Welcome to Friday Fictioneers
Thank you. Lovely to be here!
Welcome to Friday Fictioneers, Jeanne.
Nice little snippe of a ay in the life!
This makes me miss the ocean. I lived on the Cali coast for most of my life. Now, I’m in the mountains. We have lakes and rivers, but it’s not the same.
I’m in the desert…ugh…guess that’s why I write/paint/dream about the ocean all the time. 🙂
Nice and atmospheric! Nice to ‘see’ you on FF! 🙂
Thank you – it is very nice to be here!
Good story. It makes me want to know more about the girl and her mom.
Thanks – yes I’d like to know more about them too. 🙂
End of May before we start to open up here, although I’ve been at work all the way through. Looking forward to some sort of normality again – and a trip to the beach with the kids would be something to look forward to this summer!
Hope the beaches will open!

I think you’re the third newbie this week 🙂 Welcome to our great group of writers.
Anyone who thinks hair salons are nonessential has never lived with a menopausal woman!
Oh my you’ve got that right! Love these mini story sessions. Glad I found you!
Thanks Jeanne – these are fun!
Welcome .I live a half mile away from a beach so I like that kind of story..nice family moment
A sweet little story that made me want to be out on a boat, feeling the sea breezes right now. I imagine the Aloha hat would be perfect for keeping the hot sun at bay. Lovely photo of you, too, Jeanne. We’ve been having a mini-heatwave here in the UK, too – although I imagine it would seem cool compared to where you live. Glad to know you are all keeping safe.
Thank you Millie for stopping by and your lovely sweet comments. Glad you enjoyed the little tale.
