The Secret…SIX INCH SQUARES!
Here’s the Very Simple Step-by-Step…Hold On…This is Quick!
Step One: Select your favorite fabric patterns and textures, With a rotary cutter, cut the fabric into 6 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ squares. Stack squares in a pile ready to build. This will be a crazy Mix of Patterns. But all in Flannel.
Step Two: With the width and length of the quilt decided, sew the squares together into rows, then sew row to row. You’re building the Quilt Top.
A cat friend may help with the construction, then again, maybe not.
Keep going…everyone is still asleep and you’re building a masterpiece.

Shhh…take a break with Coffee and an English. You’ve got this!
Step Three: Now make a Quilt Sandwich;
Quilt Squares are the Top. Middle is Batting. Bottom Red Tartan.
Fold the bottom fabric over to the top for an edging border. This frames the quilt and keeps everything in place. Stitch around the border, then “stitch-in-the-ditch”. Sew Up and Down. Side to Side.
This mix of Cozy Flannels is Perfect for Fall.
A Little Bit Crazy. Certainly Fun. Quick to Make.

There is nothing like cuddling under a handmade quilt! I use one that my mother-in-law made for me as my sofa blanket and I swear I feel her love every time I wrap up in it. (She is no longer with us.)

This was so cool! I’ve always wanted to learn how to quilt.
A dear friend and colleague taught me how…we began with the 6″ square…I loved the speed of putting the quilt together that I never wanted to move forward to tiny pieced, intricate patterns…I let the fabrics create the design. Happy Fall Stacy!
