Here You Go…The 7 Simple Steps to a Fun 3′ x 5′ Quilt!
Step One: Gather Up Your Fabric. Cut into 6″ Squares. Mix it All Up – Cotton, Flannel, Linen. Patterns. Solids. Everything Works in the Mix!
A Rotary Cutter makes Cutting Squares Fast and Easy. Amazon. Here.
Set Aside one large piece of Fabric for the Quilt Back.
Step Two: Sew 6 Squares for Each Row. This makes the 3′ width.
Keep Sewing until you have 10 Strip Rows. This makes the 5′ Length.
Step Three: Sew the Strip Rows Together to Create the Quilt Top.
Keep Building the Rows. It’s Taking Shape and Looks Great!
Step Four: Cut a large Flannel Piece for the Quilt Back.
Step Five: Make a Sandwich – Flannel Back, Batting Middle, Quilt Top.
Step Six: Fold Over the Back to the Front to create an Edge. Pin.
Step Seven: Sew the Edge All Around and then “Stitch in the Ditch”.
“Stitch in the Ditch” – Sew straight lines between the rows to keep the layers in place. Sew from Left to Right and Top to Bottom.
