Ready??? Let’s Go!
STEP ONE: Make 3 Color Copies of a Favorite Photo.
1 Copy will be the BACKGROUND of the card.
The other 2 copies will be the FOREGROUND – the people in the photo.

STEP TWO: The Assembly – The Background of the Card:
Apply Glue to the 5 X 7 Folded Cardstock. Glue the photo copy to the card for the background.

Trim the excess, if needed. You now have the background of the card.

STEP THREE: The Assembly of the Foreground – the Figures on the Card.
Apply Glue to cardstock for figure 1. This is to strengthen the figure so it stands up.

Place the glued side to the back of the photo. This is figure number 1.

Cut Out figure 1. This separates the figure from the background.

Do the same for figure 2.

Cute paper dolls ready to be attached to the card. 🙂

STEP FOUR: The Mechanics – Stand the Figures Up for the 3-D POP-UP.
Use tape to attach each figure to the background – tape the back of the figure. Stand the figures up.

You’ve just created a “mirror” effect.

Position and Tape the bottom half of the figure on the background. Gives a 3-D effect.

Attach figure 2 to the background with tape. Stand figure 2 up.

So Cute!

If the figure is a bit wobbly, add a small piece of folded cardboard to the back of the figure to stabilize it.
The figure will still fold down when the card is closed. When the card is opened, the figure will POP UP!

For a bit of pizzazz, add some bits and bobs to emphasize the 3-D effect.
A Metal Pin on His Shirt is fun and helps with the realism effect.

The final touch…Jazz it Up with Birthday Wrapping Paper…Cut out a Cupcake. Glue to the Card.

Now There’s No Mistake this is a Birthday Card! Pop the POP UP in the Envelope!

So Cute! Happy Birthday!
